Press the button to preview the joined AVI file. Click Merge to join all AVI files together. Enter the output filename, or use 'Browse' to select a directory or name a file. Boilsoft is good for joining small files, but on large movies avidemux is best.
Ive used Boilsoft Video Joiner before and the finished file wasnt playing properly and had some artifacts. Clear all avi files in the list one time, just press 'Clear'. I prefer using avidemux (free) to join 2 avis together. Then hit the middle Merge button to create a video pack below.

VirtualDub is a software with the ability to merge avi files, the recording format of Fraps, and the ability to compress the video to reduce the file size Ideal for my purposes. Problem with Fraps is, that it splits movies into 4 Gigabyte chunks which is not really helpful if you want to upload one video to your website or YouTube, and not parts of the video. I have started to record game videos with the popular recording software Fraps.
